Southwind Winter Guard Audition Information:

Date: Sunday October, 25 2009

Time: 10am-6pm

Location: Harrison County HS
320 Webster Ave
Cynthiana Ky 41031

Cost: $30.00 non-refundable audition fee

What to bring: Flags will be provided for auditions. Please bring a rifle or sabre with you if you wish to audition for a weapons spot. Bring a bag lunch with you or plan to grab lunch at one of the local fast food establishments.

What to wear: Please wear form fitting black dance attire.

We recently migrated the main site and the alumni site to a new server. It's a faster, stronger, better kind of server with lots more horsepower than the last one. Southwind.org still gets you to the main site, but so will southwind.southwindalumni.org.
The new URL for the Alumni site is alumni.southwindalumni.org.

Southwind Winter Guard Created for 2010 PDF Print E-mail

Southwind is pleased to announce the creation of Southwind Winter Guard for the 2010 WGI season. Southwind Winter Guard will compete in Independent A Class in TriState Circuit. The guard will also compete in two WGI Regionals and WGI World Championships April 8-10 in Dayton, OH. Auditions for Southwind Winter Guard are tentatively scheduled for Sunday September 13, 2009 in Lexington, KY. Southwind Winter Guard will be led by director Marcus Lewis.

Drums Across The Bluegrass - July 28th PDF Print E-mail
Southwind is proud to announce that Eastern Kentucky University will once again host our annual Drums Across the Bluegrass event. The show will be held at Roy Kidd Stadium in Richmond and begins at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 28th. This year's event features seven premier drum corps from around the country: Santa Clara Vanguard, Blue Stars, Blue Knights, Pacific Crest, The Academy, Cascades, and Music City.

Southwind Office Moves to Downtown Lexington PDF Print E-mail

Southwind has MOVED to downtown Lexington!

The Southwind office is now located in ArtsPlace at 161 North Mill Street in downtown Lexington. ArtsPlace is managed by LexArts and houses many LexArts members, including the Lexington Philharmonic, Lexington Ballet, and Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras.

ArtsPlace is a 1904 Beaux Arts Classical building owned by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and subleased to LexArts. Through its management of ArtsPlace and the Downtown Arts Center (DAC), LexArts provides space for artists and arts organizations to rehearse, perform and exhibit their work. In addition, both venues offer office space to qualified arts organizations at affordable rental rates well below market cost.
